Use of Cellular Tree Root Protection System in Construction of Shared Use Path
Apr 09 2020
Auchterarder - Phase 2’ is a 1.5km shared-use active-travel path providing an ‘all-abilities’ compliant route. Part of this route included an area with steep gradients and steps; making it unsatisfactory or even impossible for many path users. The proposal was to find an alternative route which would limit gradients and create an all abilities trail however this could only be achieved by re-routing the path through a stand of mature specimen conifers. The solution was to use a tree root protection cellular confinement system.
