Rural Path Surfacing - Islay, Argyll and Bute
The community on Islay wished to link Port Ellen with Ardbeg
Mar 07 2017
The community on Islay wished to link Port Ellen with Ardbeg to allow sustainable travel for local community, visitors, and staff working at the distilleries (Laphroaig, Lagavulin, and Ardbeg). A 5 km path project was proposed and over a 4 year period installed by the community access group. The community wished to deliver a path project, with matched funding criteria for sustainable travel, whilst delivering a path network within the vicinity of the A846, which would remove the use of the A846 for sustainable travel users.
